BELLE AIRE DEEP ENERGY RETROFIT

This project blew life, daylight and fresh air back into a North End Halifax home for a young family. Dating from 1897, the house had been cut into multiple units over the last few decades and fell into disrepair. Relocating the kitchen to the center of the house created a new focal point for family life with the large island providing the perfect spot for a kitchen party, casual dinners, homework and art projects. The renovation upgraded insulation on foundation, walls and roof and electrified the systems of the house. New wood windows add character and provide a beautiful day lit space.
